Forum Discussion Topic: Designing Real-Life Scenarios for Competency-Based Learning

Completion requirements

Competency-Based Learning encourages linking teaching and learning to real-life situations through approaches like scenario-based learning.

Reflect on your subject area:

👉 Design an activity with a scenario and a task  that helps learners apply a specific concept (e.g., number bases, linear equations, tourism, or any other topic within your subject area) to a real-life situation in their community.

👉Explain how this activity brings out at least one of the following aspects: supporting learner engagement, critical thinking, understanding  and transfer of knowledge to real-life challenges.


Instructions:

  • Post your response (at least 150 words).

  • Reply to at least two peers, offering feedback or suggestions to improve their scenarios.
